Masonicare, of Wallingford, Connecticut, is the state’s leading provider of healthcare and retirement living communities for seniors. They are not-for-profit and have more than 100 years of experience behind them. They’re recognized for the quality, compassionate care and steadfast support they provide to their residents and patients.
When Masonicare decided to move their transcription work in house, they relied on Rita Smith to find a solution to fit their growing needs. With over 200 authors and 100 dictated jobs daily, Rita needed a flexible workflow system that was easy-to-use and had reporting. The objective was to shorten turn around times, provide listen only access to some users, lower Masonicare’s overall costs but provide an advanced workflow system with reporting and find something that was flexible enough to feel familiar for those using the system.
Carlie Sizemore, a Product Specialist at TranscriptionGear, listened to Rita’s needs and recommended Atom Live™, a hosted dictation management and typing system. This allowed Rita to have full workflow support, reporting, call-in dictation, dictation stations and digital voice recorders for dictation while transcriptionists used Atom Player, a PC-based transcription software with full foot pedal support. Atom is a secure, closed proprietary system for HIPAA compliance.
When asked what she saw after implementation, Rita said, “Much lower cost, TAT is excellent and no more cutoffs in dictation. The Medical staff did not notice any change on their part. Most of the functions were identical to what medical staff had been using.”
Atom Live is a hosted dictation management platform that is built on the Fusion Voice™ dictation platform. Atom, with its simple interface and powerful workflow features, is the standard hosted dictation system in the industry. Unlike on-premise systems that require a large up front investment and ongoing maintenance, Atom Live is scalable and billable per month. It is hosted in multiple secure data centers around the country and TranscriptionGear handles all of the maintenance.
